Top Tips for Success in emarketing

  • Start with a digital marketing strategy - work out the frequency, content and more importantly, the reason why people would sign up and read your newsletters or eshots.
  • Encourage subscriptions to your newsletter by offering exclusive information or offers.
  • Always use the same "from" address to develop recognition, add credibility and strengthen the relationship.
  • Create a well written "subject" line, and gain more opens for you eshot. Make your subject line of interest to most, if not all of your recipients.
  • HTML - be aware that some of the recipients may not receive HTML emails as standard, so always create and send a text version simultaneously.
  • Make your content interesting - special offers, shared information, new market information and entertainment (where appropriate ) work well.
  • Link back to your website by creating landing pages, and linked pages with additional information.
  • Stay legal - always offer the recipient the option of "unsubscibing" and if in doubt review the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.
  • Measure the success of each blast, and analyse the responses to the variety of information sent - use this data to tailor future campaigns and add to your digital marketing strategy.
  • Always run a test send prior to the email send and check for mistakes.
  • Email marketing allows you to react faster to any last minute offers and to allow your team to concentrate on other key activities.
